9/15-9/16
I will be fishing lake Champlain on 9/15-9/16 and unfortunalety I have to do good in order to make it into the regional finals. My ranking as I am typing this is 52 and only the top 40 make it. I just hope I pull a good boater and have some luck on my side.

Fluke Fishing on the Atlantic Star
This is a photo that I took on my way in from fishing on Saturday 5-12-2012. I went out on the Atlantic Star which goes out of the Atlantic highlands in New Jersey. Myself and two others Robert and Rich thought we would try our luck on a half day boat for fluke, but to no avail.

Last week while fishing I lost my drag knob assembly to my Quantum kinetic. When I called Quantum about what had happened they said they would replace it for free. Thank You Quantum.

I lost my pole
How many fishing poles have you lost in the water?
Reason for this question is because I have lost two (2) in less than a year. Normal???

Lake Gaston, Bracey VA
Well...I fished in my second tournament of the season on 4/21/12 and unfortunately I caught nothing. But on the plus side, my day was pretty much trouble free except for my boater getting the boat stuck between two stumps while we were fishing a shoreline which ended up costing us about twenty minutes of fishing time.
I don't think I am going to fish anymore tournaments until June which is when the Northeast division starts in the BFL.
If anybody is looking into purchasing a New or Used vehicle please check out Ditschman/Flemington Ford at http://ford.flemington.com/ or Flemington Car and Truck Country Family of Dealerships at http://www.flemington.com/
Thanks,

Well I fished in my first tournament of the season this past Saturday. And I must say, I started the season off just the way I wanted, placing and cashing a check.

Regional Finals at Smith Mountain Lake VA
Before I get to fishing let me first catch you up to speed about my regions. My regions consisted of four divisions the Buckeye, South Carolina, Volunteer, and lastly the Northeast division which was my division. Throughout the season each of these four division had a total of five tournaments with the last being a two tournament also known as a super tournament. Now, out of the these four divisions the top 40 from the boater and the co-angler divisions moved onto the regional. LETS FISH!!!
10/13/11 First day.
My first day of fishing started off pretty slow well actually really slow because I wasn't catching anything. My boater and I went from dock to dock, point to point, and cove to cove still to no avail. After doing this for an hour or two, my boater finally hooked into a decent size largemouth which kinda broke the ice for the both of us mainly because it showed that the fish were actually where we were fishing, it was now time for me to catch something.
Catching something was not going to be easy, especially since I had already been fishing for about two hours and still had not caught a thing nor had a bit. It was now time to stop fishing and really think about the present conditions in which we were up against. After a few minutes of really thinking about the conditions I took the setup of my pole and re rigged with a Senko which I setup wacky style. Now, about this time my boater was parallel to a point which had a few docks along it and one of those docks was about 10 to 15 yards to my left. I whipped my pole back and landed a perfect cast right in front the dock BAAM, it was gonna be a good day. I ended up catching a total of three fish that day which landed me in 5th place going into day two.
Day Two
I caught 5 fish that did not keep, and lost one 5 pounder that would have put in 4th place going into the finale day. And let me tell you what I will never live that moment down. But on the bright side of things I did place 22 in the regions which was a huge accomplishment for me, especially because it was my first year fishing in the BFL and in tournaments.
Thanks for reading.......

1000 Islands 2-day tournament 9/10/2011
This tournament was located at the same location as my previous 1000 Islands tournament. And, it started off better then my first one also, considering I didn't get a speeding ticket, I picked my Canadian license up without any problems and my boater had his Canadian fishing license. With that said lets get to fishing!!
My morning started off with a decent run to a spot that my boater had been catching some fish in which was on the Canadian side. Once we arrived, we dropped our lines and began to fish. Our plan that day was to fish mainly drop shot. So, we fished his first spot for about an hour or two but we caught nothing, so we packed up our gear and moved on to another spot. When we arrived to our new hole I rigged up my drop shot with a green plastic worm and tossed it out. Within a few jerks of my wrist I hooked into a smallmouth that I thought could possibly keep. After a brief fight I brought the fish into the boat and realized that there was a great possibility that it wouldn't keep. So I unhooked the fish and got the measuring board out. I placed the fish on the board and unfortunately it was about a half and inch short, so I tossed him back. After I tossed the fish back I noticed that my hook was stuck in the carpet. Which at that time I unhooked it from the carpet and threw it in the water. But when I threw my hook into the water I instantly noticed that something was wrong. The reason I got that feeling was because my hook and sinker went straight down as if my pole was at the bottom of the lake. Well I turned around to grab my pole and it was at the bottom of the lake.
A little while later after losing my pole I ended up hooking into a keeper which would in the end put me in 38th place on the leaders chart but not allow me to fish the second day of the tournament. But being in 38th place was a big accomplishment for me because only the top 40 make it to the regional finals.
Thanks,
Chris

Hey Everybody,
I was thinking of a way that I could give back to all of my members and I came up with this. I would like to have a contest on who has the craziest fishing, or hunting story. I will read your stories and narrow them down to the top four and I will post them on my blog for people to vote on. First place will win a 50 dollar gift card of your choice to Dicks or Cabelas. Let me know how everybody feels about this, by voting.
To vote- Locate the pole that says "Will you write for the Contest" which is at the top right corner of the screen and answer Yes or No.
